1. The Lost Song, Part 1 :
The first track “The Lost Song, Part 1” start  with mix of progressive styling, infusing piano and the lovely backing vocals of Lee Douglas to give even more emotion to the voice of Vincent Cavanagh. When we talk about the voice of Vincent Cavanagh ,we dont talk about range or skill, his voice has emotion effect in our heart.
His has the ability to take you out of yourself cage ,like an music instrument  with light, dark sorrow and joy.
The first song is amazing; layers of guitar and piano build up, while a backdrop of keyboard effects .But it is Vincent’s voice that will engrave this song on your heart.
RUNNING TIME :5:53
RATING: 10
2. The Lost Song, Part 2 :
So this track is the black side of the first track .”The Lost Song, Part 2″ we listen the clear melodic and pure crystal voice of Lee Douglas. Lee sang so sweetly. The song is full of emotion and confidence with gently guitars ,a musical shadow play. Beautiful ballad!
RUNNING TIME :5:47
RATING: 10

3. Dusk (Dark Is Descending):

The  third track is a blend of  two singers in the usual style of Anathema once again the song starting with the voices and keyboards into a melodic crescendo.
The  guitar riffs and hypnotic drumming  provide a great mix ,  heartbreaking vocal melodies, which slowly rise to a thrilling crescendo, with a melodic piano  before rising again to touch the heavens once more.
RUNNING TIME :5:59
RATING: 9.8

4. Ariel :

The tack begins with fragile  sound of piano with the dark melodic voice of Lee Douglas and after three minutes Vincent joins in  give to the song from soft ballad a rock  progressive metal rife with now the keys over top.I s as song as dialogue between the female voice and the male a call and  an answer like a a romantic relationship. This song is truly wonderful and stands tall among the rest .
RUNNING TIME :6:28
RATING: 10
5. “The Lost Song, Part 3” 5:21

“Lost Song , Part 3”  is a strong conclusion to the three part saga. Is dream sound song , beautiful vocals, irresistible melodies, hopeful and emotional lyrics, and instrumentals  going down by a quick bass and drum.Is an expression of fractal musical beauty without end but never boring to listen.
RUNNING TIME :5:21
RATING: 10
6. Anathema :
It is a self-titled track piece after nearly 25 years of existence.Vincent Cavanagh sing pure and passionate with dramatic orchestration with piano ,before the heavenly guitar solo of Daniel Cavanagh land the song. The final three minutes of this song are the heaviest thing the band has written in years and take back to their doom metal roots .
RUNNING TIME :6:40
RATING: 10

7. You’re Not Alone:
And what we have here ? An experiment song with trip hop sound?Anathema is not afraid of experimentation. The percussion in this track is good but this electronic sound is not that I like from this band.
RUNNING TIME :3:26
RATING: 5

8. Firelight:
The next song is  a two minute  instrumental which invokes imagery begins with a church-organ type, it is an interlude perhaps meant to create separation between “You’re Not Alone” and the title track.
RUNNING TIME :2:42
RATING: 5

9. Distant Satellites :

The song “Distant Satellites” starts with more programmed beats. Vincent vocal ethereal and manage to marry different elements in Anathema music,  electro ambient and industrial! The drums beat with a little piano. The song is good and have harmony.Only Anathema could   have a song like this be the title track of one of their albums.
RUNNING TIME :8:17
RATING: 6

10. Take Shelter:

The album’s closing track Take Shelter has many computerized sounds with some piano and natural drums  and the light voice of  Vincent. The influences of the band Radiohead are very clearly here.
RUNNING TIME :6:07
RATING: 6
In conclusion with this new album Anathema proves once again that they can create anytime new sounds with the same quality. The band experimenting  a lot more with ideas of space and distance, separating the elements of each track to create a sense of depth and atmosphere quite different from both its predecessors.
Music this deep, the lyrics perfect but I prefer the only the 6 tracks of this album to keep.Anyway respect to Anathema.

RATING: 8.18/10
